  • Overview

    The General Manager at a Bowlero Corp venue is a critical thinker and decision maker extraordinaire—someone who can see the big picture, handle small details, and manage their staff with world-class efficiency. GMs are responsible for all aspects of venue operations and floor management, handling the day-to-day of the facility and making sure that our staff complies with all Bowlero Corp standards and procedures.

    General Managers are high-level multi-taskers who oversee a variety of functions—from developing operational plans and budgets to creating sales and marketing plans to reviewing weekly (and monthly) P&L statements. Growing revenue and controlling expenses are two aspects of the GM experience that are also critical to the role. To that end, the GM is always thinking about unique opportunities to increase revenue, working diligently to raise group event sales revenue by effectively managing the sales team and developing sales deliverables that are both measurable and achievable.

    Successful GMs are great communicators—respectful of their staff and welcoming to guests—with a nuanced sense of service that shines through in all that they do. GMs are paragons of guest care who set the tone and model the kind of class-leading guest experiences that we pride ourselves on exhibiting at every Bowlero Corp center. In addition to these highly developed social/interpersonal skills, center GMs also have a thorough working knowledge of POS register systems (a technology that they will encounter and interact with regularly). 

    GMs are individuals who are adept at the art of people management—hiring, training, and evaluating Bowlero Corp staff to ensure that employees are well-versed in such areas as guest service, food and beverage operations, and loss prevention. The GM isn’t afraid to tackle the tough problems—namely, venue-level HR and loss prevention issues—and works diligently to make sure that both company standards and team member morale are consistently high.

    Our GM candidates typically have a bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) and 2-3 years of progressive management experience with staff supervision.
